Sirnaomics, Inc., is a leading clinical stage biopharmaceutical company in discovery and development of RNAi therapeutics for treatment of cancer and fibrotic diseases. We are seeking a conjugation chemist experienced in chemical modification of oligonucleotides to work in our Gaithersburg, MD headquarters.
The successful candidate will be responsible for chemical modification of RNAs or peptides with peptides or small molecules, formulation of oligonucleotides into nanoparticles, testing of these reagents to determine effect in cell culture. This person will also handle downstream purification and characterization of the oligonucleotide, modified peptide by cartridge, HPLC and other methods, analyze data using analytical instruments including NMR, DLS, HPLC, MS. UV/vis, etc., and prepare experimental reports and make presentations to the R&D team and to senior executives.
To be considered for this position, the well qualified candidate will hold an advanced degree (preferably a PhD) in Chemistry or Biochemistry, or equivalent and have two or more years of experience in conjugation chemistry applied to biological systems and peptide chemistry experience, to include: experience in formulation of nanoparticles as well as synthetic organic and analytical chemistry; experience with oligonucleotide/siRNA purification and characterization techniques; experience with analytical instruments including HPLC, MS, NMR, UV/vis, etc. This person will also have experience in the optimization of purification protocols for oligonucleotides (RNA and DNA) via HPLC, Dialysis, and other chromatographic methods, experience in SPR and hands-on experience manipulating and synthesizing RNA in an R&D environment and highly conversant with RNAse-free lab techniques.
